About Soltell - Our Story

Soltell started in 2019, when Leon, Oded, Eliaz, Gilad and Dr. Igor Derzy partnered to change the way decentralized solar photovoltaics (PV) are managed. It came with an innovative idea: what if solar PV performance can be assessed remotely just from its current-voltage (IV) data without dedicated hardware? That's right! No expensive meteorological weather stations or soiling meters are needed on site to do the job. Assessing system performance (EPI, PPI) on an intuitive percentage scale from 0% to 100% and soiling ratio (SR) from 0 to 1 proved to be possible at unprecedented accuracy, well surpassing the ability of remote sensing by satellites.

In 2019, Soltell graduated the Herzliya Accelerator Center (HAC) and participated in the Start Alliance program for Cleantech companies by Berlin Partners. Soltell deployed the Smart Solar Measurement SysMapApp for integrators that year and partnered with the Kfar Saba Economic Development Corp (KSEDC) for municipal solar projects. In 2020, Soltell received a grant by the Israel Innovation Authority (IIA) to scale-up the solution and began working with corporates such as Fronius on energy data integrations. In 2022, Soltell's solution was deployed at the largest Israeli municipal solar project and international offices were inaugurated in EU and US. In 2023, Soltell took part in the Orange Button working group on data standardization of Distributed Energy Resources (DERs) and was accepted into the prestigious NVIDIA Inception program. In 2024, Soltell received its second IIA grant to scale-up the SysMapData service.
